Now hiring irrigation service technicians
Turf Industries is a family-run irrigation, landscape lighting and backflow testing company based in Lake Zurich. We take care of sprinkler systems across the North Shore, Lake County, the northwest suburbs and the north side of Chicago.
These are seasonal positions, spring through fall — the irrigation calendar runs from spring start-ups through fall winterization. We would rather tell you that up front than have it come as a surprise in November.
What the work looks like
You would be running a route: turning systems on in the spring, checking and adjusting zones, chasing down leaks and broken heads through the season, and blowing systems out before the first hard freeze. Most days are outdoors, on residential properties, working from a company vehicle.
It is real hands-on work. Some of it is dirty. The spring and fall pushes are busy, and the middle of the season is steadier.
What we are looking for
- A valid driver’s license — required. You will be driving a company vehicle to customer properties.
- Irrigation experience — preferred, not required. If you have run routes before, great. If you have not, we will train the right person.
- Spanish and English — preferred. Useful on our crews, not a dealbreaker either way.
- Comfortable working outside, on your feet, in Chicago weather.

The work is skilled. Irrigation is not lawn mowing — you learn hydraulics, controllers, valves, wiring and diagnostics, and those skills carry.
